Comments for What Slows Windows Down?

I found what turned out to be a MASSIVE bug in the site programming... That is why there was sucha problem with the server a few hours ago.

Its now working pretty well and I've turned commenting back on (Along with KittenAuth v2 incase you haven't seen it) so please leave me a note if you like what's going on or you have other suggestions for the tests.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be running an extra batch of tests some time soon, so attach yourself to the RSS feed and I'll post an update soon enough.

Yeah I've had to turn off the commenting for a bit... It turns out the KittenAuth v2 design is still a little heavy on the processing and bandwidth side of things to start having it display at the bottom of every page, regardless of people needing it.

For now, if you want to tell me how much you liked it, please use the contact form (on the navigation menu) and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible. Alternatively you can use the Donate button (also over there) and I'll get back to you twice, if not three, times as fast =P

I've had a lot of very grrovy suggestions for what to do to extend this testing, including (but definately not limited to) some of the following applications:
- A couple more AV/spyware suites (Winows Live OneCare)
- "Standalone" antivirus versions (Nod32, Trend, AVG, Avast, Panda, Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky)
- Anti Spyware Programs (Spybot, Spy Sweeper, AdAware)
- More programming libraries (Perl, Python)
- More office apps (Acrobat *shudder*, MS Office 2007 Beta 2 (if I can find where I put it))
- Media apps like Winamp, VLC and WMP
- A few more messenger applications (mIRC and Miranda)
- And a few other things that I'm going to keep a suprise

There's also going to be a bit of testing done on what you can *do* to your computer that will speed it up or bring it crawling to a halt. I'm going to need tips on what to include here, so if you know something that's supposed to speed up Windows or know of something that can slow it down, please get in touch.

Ok I've turned comments back on this time after a lot of hefty programming and improving the site code.

I'm currently getting the software together for the next test and that should appear within a few days. If you'd like something else, please post here or use the contact page... and remember to read my previous post before suggesting something =)
