Wow!! I'm completely stoked! A distro optimised for audio! I can't wait to try it! YES!!! Now hopefully I can get some of the better VSTs to work in it too! Thank you whoever is responsible for this awesomeness! btw, screen shots look very very pretty!

Hi there. I just read your review and thought it do be very interesting. Now i've been flirting with the idea of changing from Windows Vista to Ubuntu, but i have a few questions to ask. Now i really what to make it in the audio business and Vista just doesn't help, with it's lagging and bugs, so i am wondering if changing to Ubuntu is a good choice? I mean are the programs avalbe professional quilty? Also i use Reason 4 and Ableton Live 7 are these programs compatible with Ubuntu? and are there programs just as good as these on Ubuntu? I hope you take the time to answer my questions :)
Many Thanks
Benjamin

Reason 4 and Ableton Live 7 are not compatible but there are many alternatives that are even better and are free. Audacity is a great audio editor and it comes with the Ubuntu Studio package. If you really do need the software you want, there is some software that will let you use it with Ubuntu but I can't think of any that are free. You could try using CrossOver Linux Pro which lets you install windows programs on ubuntu. There are other programs such as Wine that you could try.
