Check out ing.com also. They have a click-on-the-number keypad image with each number assigned a random code that is actually returned to the server when that part of the image is clicked.
Assemble a composite image containing an assortment of pics and have the user click the pics that match the request. When the panels have been clicked, they press submit and the server checks the codes selected against the correct list for that particular set of images.
I hope this idea works ... I hate trying to decode distorted and hidden characters :)
