Add a note that the step "Get the Stuff - 3." is not sricitly necessary (the DOS files are downloaded to a "DOS System Files" folder if all files are extracted from the HP ziparchive). In the step "using DOS system files located at" note that you point to the "DOS System Files" folder created during the extraction.
This way it's obvious that the "Flash Drive Format Tool" download is all you need - no hunting for DOS files on a bootable disk that I don't have because I'm trying to create one since it doesn't have a floppy drive.

Yeah, this one is perfect. Just 2 clicks and you have a bootable USB disk. I just did a update bios for my abit ip35 pro with newest bios version 29 Feb 2008, of course it's successful. After dealing with how to make usb boot disk, because winflash from abit cannot run under Vista SP1. So all i have to do is make a boot disk usb in order to update my bios. Finnally i found this site and my job's done to accomplish my process of bios updating.

Thanks alot for the information and the links to the files and program!! I was about to install Windows Vista on my computer and decided to upgrade my BIOS to the latest version. What I didn`t do was reading on the ASUS forums that their users said the version sucked and really messed up their system. After clearing CMOS i got back into the BIOS, but he upgrade could not be rolled back or downgraded...
This USB boot disk was exactly what I needed to get awdflash running, the only program said to downgrade my BIOS :-)
I am so grateful :D

Ok, I tried the Hp utility, used your bootfiles, but now it says my flash drive is in use by another program. Anyone know why it's doing this? And all windows to the drive are closed, light is off, so it shouldn't be in use, other than the eject hardware icon.

I followed you instructions but cannot seem to boot from the usb flash drive, i need it to run in dos to install norton ghost 2003 for a beta testing I have been doing, i need to install ghost 2003 for certain things :-), obviously its not the beta lol. anyway I cannot seem to make my usb bootable though my bios allows for usb fdd,usb zip and usb cdrom. no matter what i try I cnnot boot from it. i used your 98 files as they seem to be the only files i can find and i used the tool to create a dos boot using th hp tool. i set my bios for all three options of usb boot and still nothing, any suggestions?
