The Win98 zip gives error message "Please insert next volume of multi volume set" when extracting... :(

Thx. I could manage to boot from my usb. It assigned itself the driveletter 'C'. But, why it didn't detect my main HDD? =(

This boot disk can not detect NTFS formatted hard drives. For that you need a boot disk with a ntfs driver on it. Avira has a free one for personal use. The install utility isn't that good it formats your drive to a 1.44mb.

Do a search on google for NTFS boot disk or just check out my site in my profile

Thanks very much for sharing this with the world! It works perfectly. I've tried Flashboot; it works but it isn't free and the trial only works once. It seems HP has removed their free utility from their site as well. Your program worked perfectly and the included "gbdf" folder has some very useful items as well.

Worked perfectly. I used a Sony 512mb flash drive on an Averatec laptop. After wasting hours using all sorts of other methods of trying to get the flash drive to boot, this method worked perfectly and only took about 5 minutes total. THANKS!!!!!!
