The "Code"

ThePCSpy gets visitors from all walks of life from many different regions of the world. It is therefore important that users are aware that content they submit is going to be viewed by many different people and it might offend some.

Therefore it's important to note that certain rules must be embedded so that people can get along with minimal friction. These apply to all users of the site, including admins. These are the rules of the "Code":

  1. By all means have a discussion but try to stay within the scope of the thread. If you have something off-topic to say, consider starting a new conversation and linking it in.
  2. There will be disagreements between people but threatening or bullish behaviour will not be tolerated towards other users. Taunting people into response is equally bad. Racism will also be removed.
  3. Be honest. There is no reason to lie.
  4. If you mention external sources in a debate, be sure to link them in where possible as this validates your argument.
  5. If you have problems with your account, get them sorted by using the contact page rather than submitting threads about it in public.
  6. The edit-post is not to be abused. People can edit their own posts a short while after they've posted (for errors and omissions) but the feature should not be used to change the underlying meaning of posts' content.

In return we shall not:

  • delete or edit posts that remain within the "Code".
  • edit the meaning of the post.
  • use our powers to deceive the readers.

Common decency, common sense and honesty sum this all up.
